KLAUS SCHULZE – X (2CD) - MIG Music Edition

X is among Klaus Schulze's most ambitious and monumental works, being at the same time one of the most important albums of the Berlin School strand. Each of the six extended compositions was inspired by outstanding historical and artistic figures – from Friedrich Nietzsche and Georg Trakl to Ludwig II of Bavaria and Heinrich von Kleist. Schulze creates vast, multi-layered soundscapes in which analogue synthesisers, sequencers and orchestral arrangements intermingle with extraordinary fluidity. The music develops slowly, but consistently, building an evocative atmosphere and leaving the listener room for their own interpretations. Compared with earlier albums the composer makes clearer use of acoustic instruments and richer arrangements, giving the whole a more symphonic character. A remastered version with one bonus track.
