JAMUL - Jamul - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

It is actually hard to believe that this superb material from 1970 has practically never had a decent CD version - apart from a poor, crackly, dull edition from the late 90s! The only LP by the American group Jamul (once sold in a fairly impressive run of 75,000 copies) is very energetic, strongly sung and very 'angry' heavy rock with elements of blues (e.g. harmonica), played on overdriven guitars, with the help of a mighty rhythm section. This record has the best version of "Tobacco Road" known to me, while "Long Tall Sally" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash" have been reworked in a genuinely original way. This is a record that will delight fans of playing in the vein of Euclid, Yesterday's Children, Frantic and very early Steppenwolf! Excellent sound quality! Highly recommended! (JL)
