HUMAN BEAST - Volume One - EU Magic Potion Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

A new, limited, European edition of the only, very dark album by a Scottish, forgotten heavy rock trio, drawing on the psychedelic tradition. Released in a tasteful sleeve by Decca Records in August 1970, the LP, optimistically named "Volume One", was an exceptional and original work, containing seven compositions combining the style of Cream, Hendrix, Black Sabbath and perhaps early East Of Eden. Decidedly the greater part of the record, lasting only 34 minutes, was filled with very dynamic, partly instrumental tracks full of numerous changes, based on a countless number of Sabbath-like riffs and swaying guitar parts, the powerful sound of pulsating bass, fanciful, free but dense drumming and dark, amazing vocals. In a somewhat different, psychedelic style were the compositions characterised by an overdriven guitar sound flowing like magma, inspired by the music of the East, at times based on the interplay of acoustic and electric guitars. It is worth knowing that "Maybe Someday" in its original, raw version appeared on the debut record of The Incredible String Band. In my opinion this wonderful album is among the greatest achievements of the British rock underground! The original long-player in the British version is very sought after and is worth... 3000 euros! An absolute must! (JL)
