CRAZY MABEL - Crazy Mabel - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

European reissue of the only, completely forgotten, but great album by a British progressive band, originally released in 1970 (only in the Netherlands and Germany), echoing almost directly the slightly jazzy and so typical of 1970 (saxophone, flute, electric guitar, dense drumming) eclectic style of early Jethro Tull, Blodwyn Pig, Traffic and the unknown band Diabolus. Geoff Leigh played the wind instruments - soon after a member of Henry Cow. The only flaws of this album are: the 3-minute, dreary track opening the whole thing, which departs from the style of the rest of the compositions, and the (probably) artificial applause pasted in between tracks. Excellent sound quality! A must for fans of progressive rock! (JL)
