CRABBY APPLETON - Crabby Appleton - SWE Flawed Gems Remastered - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Released by Elektra in 1970, the first (of two), truly excellent album by an American band playing melodic, catchy but dynamic hard rock (with elements of ambitious pop and early progressive rock) using organs. The opening "Go Back" has a fantastic kick, and the whole thing appeals to almost anyone who values playing from 1969-1970! Strangely the album did not sell very well, and the second LP was already much weaker. Vocalist/guitarist Michael Fennelly had earlier appeared on the Millennium record. Remastered and, importantly, excellent-sounding edition. Highly recommended!
