SCORPIONS - SCORPIONS - Live In Essen, April 1975 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
An excellent, limited, 52-minute black vinyl released in a beautiful, laminated sleeve with early, nice (but sometimes also cheesy...) photos of the band. This superb album was recorded by the German radio station WDR during the April 1975 concert tour promoting the second, progressive LP in their discography, "Fly To The Rainbow" - of course with the Hendrix-loving guitarist Uli Roth! By some miracle the radio broadcast was professionally recorded by a fan of the band and hence this album! This material was available for years on CDs (and on YouTube) in dreadful quality! This is a different, almost perfect source! The long-player contains, among others, five tracks from the 'second album', unique covers of Hendrix's "Red House" and "Rock & Roll Queen" from the Mott The Hoople repertoire, as well as "Long Tall Sally" and a short, instrumental jam. An absolute must! Condition: MINT (NEW, unsealed). (JL) -

SCORPIONS - SCORPIONS - Lonesome Crow - JAP Remastered Edition - LISTENprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Released at the beginning of 1972, the debut by the band of Schenker and Meine belongs to the very top of the best heavy-rock (or rather heavy-progressive) albums in the history of rock! A brilliant and formula-exhausting combination of the style of very early Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and (in traces) Pink Floyd. Wonderful playing by the then 17-year-old guitarist - Michael Schenker, expansive compositions with a slightly psychedelic, dark mood, excellent, spacious production! An absolute must! A remastered 2010 Japanese reissue. (JL) -

SCORPIONS - SCORPIONS - Live In Essen, April 1975 - 'Fly To The Rainbow' Tour FM Broadcast - EU Sweet Leaf Limited Edition - VERY RAREprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A limited, excellent European CD lasting 79 minutes, containing two performances by the classic line-up, with guitarist Uli Roth: a 50-minute radio-broadcast performance from Essen, Germany, from April 1975 (from the tour promoting the second, hard-progressive LP in their discography, "Fly To The Rainbow") and (as a BONUS) a 30-minute 'live' performance from Swiss TV from 1977 (promoting the LP "Virgin Killer"). The Essen concert was recorded by the German station WDR, and somehow the radio broadcast was professionally recorded by a fan of the band, hence this album! This material was available for years on CDs (and on YouTube) in much worse quality - with crackles! This is a different, almost perfect source! The band performed, among others, five tracks from the 'second album', unique covers of Hendrix's "Red House" and "Rock & Roll Queen" from the repertoire of Mott The Hoople, as well as "Long Tall Sally" and a short instrumental jam. The May 1977 performance, in turn, contained eight recordings in perfect sound quality. The whole is an ideal complement to the band's splendid catalogue records from 1974-1977. An absolute must! Condition: New, sealed. (JL) -

Scorpions are without a doubt the best-known and best German rock band of all time, and at the same time one of the best export goods to come out of Germany. In the biography "Wind Of Change" Martin Popoff presents the history of the band's career, analysing every track from every album it has ever recorded. From Lonesome Crow, released in 1972, through Blackout, the "farewell" album Sting In The Tail, right up to the latest Return To Forever - here we find the story of the making of each of them. Speedy's Coming, Dark Lady, Catch Your Train, Virgin Killer, Another Piece Of Meat, Animal Magnetism, Lovedrive, Holiday, The Zoo, Blackout, No One Like You, Rock You Like A Hurricane, Still Loving You, Wind Of Change - these wonderful tracks have gone down permanently in the history of rock and heavy metal, and we learn about their origins from the pages of this book too. Martin Popoff interviewed people who played important roles over the many years of the Scorpions' career. Among them, Klaus Meine, Uli Jon Roth, Herman Rarebell, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs talk about their experiences, as well as many other people connected with the band, including David Krebs, Ralph Rieckermann and Francis Buchholz. 384 pages, hardback.
