QUATRO, MICHAEL - MICHAEL QUATRO - In Collaboration With The Gods - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

On CD for the first time! Released in 1975 by American United Artists, the third album in the career of this talented keyboardist may be an enormous surprise to many listeners! How is it possible that this excellent, progressive album from the States, kept at the level of the best achievements of the mid-70s, was so completely passed over/forgotten by fans of progressive rock and by CD publishers! In any case, MQ's best record in the discography is dominated by strongly classicising playing in the vein of Trace, Refugee, Focus, Rick Wakeman and early Queen. And however these comparisons may sound (repellent to some, no doubt), the record is filled with juicy, thoroughbred, almost entirely instrumental, progressive playing based on the sound of organ, mellotron and piano and quite sharp guitar and a solid rhythm section. It is enough to listen to the first two or three minutes of the 20-minute title suite to be sure that we are dealing with a record that is perhaps not entirely original, but in its own way truly exceptional! Oh, Michael Quatro is the biological brother of the once very popular Suzi... Highly recommended!
