PHOENIX (ROM) - PHOENIX - Cei Ce Ne-Au Dat Nume +8 - US Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
The group's debut album, which is the absolute canon of European, folky prog-rock and at the same time the top rock three of the former Eastern Bloc! The band combined elements of Romanian folklore with juicy, slightly psychedelic, guitar playing in superb fashion! You cannot tear yourself away! Additionally eight tracks from the compilation record "Remember Phoenix", containing recordings from the late 60s. A must! (JL) -

The debut of a Romanian formation, released in 1972, is an absolute canon of European, folky prog rock and at the same time the top three rock records (seriously!) of the former Eastern Bloc! The band superbly combined elements of Romanian folklore with juicy, slightly psychedelic, guitar-driven playing! You cannot tear yourself away! This is a limited reissue replicating the original vinyl pressing (IN THE GATEFOLD, ORIGINAL SLEEVE). A MUST! -

PHOENIX (ROM) - PHOENIX - Mugur de Fluier +6 - ITA Eastern Time Remastered Expanded Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Like the debut album, it is an absolute canon of European, folky progressive rock and at the same time one of the top five or six rock records from the former Eastern Bloc! Phoenix are in a way a Romanian Skaldowie, only approaching experiments with sound and dynamics more boldly. In a word - more guitars, more changes of mood and more psychedelia! The album is almost as wonderful as the debut, and the last track simply kills - just listen to that incredible, psychedelic guitar solo - probably the only one of its kind in the former Eastern Bloc! You cannot tear yourself away! The authenticity of the group's music is also enhanced by the fact that it was constantly harassed by communist censorship, which in 1977 ended in its (literal) escape to Germany. Original vinyl copies (in the original gatefold sleeve) in perfect condition fetch 150 euros! Plus six great tracks from 1972-1974. A must! (JL) -

PHOENIX (ROM) - PHOENIX - Mugur de Fluier - EU Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
As with the debut, this album, released in 1974, belongs to the absolute canon of European, folky progressive rock and at the same time to the top five or six rock records of the former Eastern Bloc! Original vinyl copies (in the original gatefold sleeve) in perfect condition fetch over 100 euros! This is an almost identical, limited replica (IN A GATEFOLD SLEEVE) - what is more with great sound! PHOENIX (ROM) - PHOENIX - Cantofabule - US Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A superb, third (and last in their career) album by a Romanian folk-progressive band - probably the best (alongside the Hungarian Omega), and certainly the most original in the Eastern Bloc! Digipak. A MUST! (JL) -

PHOENIX (ROM) - PHOENIX - Cantofabule (2LP) - EU Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
Released in 1975 on double vinyl, the superb third album by a Romanian folk-progressive formation - probably the best (alongside the Hungarian Omega), and certainly the most original, formation in the Eastern Bloc! Many consider this title the band's greatest, most progressive achievement. It is hard to argue with that, though the driving and very melodic debut is easier to absorb. Certainly the third album requires the most attention, but satisfaction is guaranteed! It is also worth stressing that these musicians took their art very seriously. Stifled by communist censorship, in 1977 they all escaped by lorry to Germany - hidden in Marshall amplifiers! In Romania that was punishable by death! It is just a pity that the matter did not end with a happy ending, as the original line-up never recorded anything again... The gatefold sleeve (in the original almost entirely white inside) has been enriched with two photos. The limited, black vinyls, meanwhile, sound excellent! A MUST!
