FOR THE FIRST TIME ON 12-INCH VINYL at 45 rpm! An enlarged replica of Def Leppard's first, legendary EP, from January 1979 (three tracks released on a single at 33 rpm) - regarded as the first record of the NWOBHM movement! Originals with the sleeve are worth nearly 1000 euros! Superb, refreshing playing in the style of Thin Lizzy and Led Zeppelin of the time. 14 minutes of music. In addition, a copy of the lyric insert. OUT OF PRINT! A must! (JL) -
DEF LEPPARD - DEF LEPPARD - First Strikes 1978-1979 - FRA On The Air - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
A superb, tastefully presented, though unofficial, limited compilation gathering probably all the most important recordings made by the band before the release of the first album ("On Through The Night" from March 1980) and never officially released on CD! In order: the first, legendary EP "Def Leppard" from January 1979 - regarded as the first record of the NWOBHM movement, the LP "First Strike", released in 1984 but withdrawn on the spot (containing seven demo tracks from 1979), a fantastic, 30-minute recording of a concert from the BBC archives from August 1979 (they never played as well as then) and three tracks, or early versions, from rare, very early singles. The covers of these releases are inside the booklet. So it is 80 minutes of dynamic, melodic playing for two lead guitars in the style of 'Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash and Tygers Of Pan Tang in one' - what is more with sound of excellent quality. An absolute must! -
DEF LEPPARD - DEF LEPPARD - Live At The BBC 1979-1980 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a 55-minute black vinyl released in a beautiful, laminated sleeve with rare, very early photos of the band. This genuinely wonderful album contains two legendary concerts from the period before and just after the release of the debut LP 'On Through The Night'. First, a 32-minute, fantastic-sounding show from August 1979 (taken from the original, promotional BBC Transcription Disc + an additional, missing track 'Rock Brigade' from another source), when the band had a self-financed EP to its name. Most of the second side is taken up by an almost complete, 24-minute show from the 1980 Reading Festival (with a brilliant version of 'Lady Strange' from the second record) - in almost equally good quality! The album contains rare titles not released on official records, such as 'Glad I'm Alive' and 'Medicine Man'. Generally I am not a die-hard Def Leppard fan, but on the first two albums and at the early concerts (with two lead guitars in the old style) they were phenomenal! The whole sounds 20% better than the best versions on YouTube (links below). A must! Condition: NEW, but not shrink-wrapped. -
