BUDGIE - BUDGIE - In For The Kill - UK Noteworthy Pressprice: 190,00 PLN / 47,50 EUR
Vinyl edition made by the band. Released in 1974, the brilliant fourth album - probably the heaviest title in the band's discography. The album contains, among others, the great title track, "Crash Course In Brain Surgery", released on the debut single (as early as 1971), the 10-minute "Zoom Club", rolling like a speeding steamroller, "Hammer And Tongs", obviously modelled on "Dazed And Confused", and the hard-progressive "Living On Your Own". A MUST! -

BUDGIE - BUDGIE - Live In Birmingham 1979 - FRA On The Air Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited to 500 copies, a French CD containing an excellent-sounding, hour-long concert from Birmingham from December 1979. It was the band's first show with guitarist John Thomas in the line-up - half a year before the LP 'Power Supply'. I draw your attention to the very interesting setlist, including 'Can't Get Up In The Morning', not released on any record, and also a unique, 8-minute medley 'In For The Kill/Rape Of The Locks/Guts'). It was a radio broadcast, so the whole thing (after noise reduction and mastering) sounds almost ideal! The material is also available on vinyl. A must! -

BUDGIE - BUDGIE - Live In Milwaukee 1978 - FRA On The Air Edition - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
This French, fan-club CD contains the full, 80-minute concert that was recorded (by the quartet, then playing with two guitars) on the American tour promoting the LP "Impeckable". The sound quality is very good, because from what I know it is the first cassette copy from the original reel recorded straight from the mixing desk. The only problem is the fact that in the first track ("Melt The Ice Away") the first minute was missing and it has been patched in from the official CD "Radio Sessions". Of course hiss has been removed, the bass and treble boosted a little - it is better than very good! ATTENTION! One more thing! Five days earlier, during the same tour, material was recorded at the A&M studios in Los Angeles, which came out on the CD "Heavier Than Air", and then on the CD "Radio Sessions" released by the band. The problem is that that (theoretically great-sounding concert) was by someone... sped up! 65 minutes were played in 63 and a half! The band 'played too fast' and to tell the truth I always had the impression that something was not right - it was livelier, but rather light... Only after listening to "Live In Milwaukee 1978" did it dawn on me that the official material sold by the band is faulty! Either way, the Milwaukee concert is recorded at the proper speed and contains two more tracks than the Los Angeles one: "Sky High Percentage" and "Zoom Club". In addition several nice photos from the same tour are included. This is a great treat for fans of heavy rock! Highly recommended! -

BUDGIE - BUDGIE - Live In St. Louis 1976 - FRA On The Air Edition - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Limited, fan-club, great CD containing a 65-minute, radio performance by the band (now a quartet - with an additional rhythm guitarist) from St. Louis in December 1976, from the tour promoting the fifth and sixth records. This 80-minute CD sounds 25% better than the old, Italian bootleg "Live In Concert", and also contains a 10-minute "Parents". The sound quality is very good (from the mixing desk - so-called soundboard), but with some fluctuations in the level of both guitars (especially in the first two tracks) and with a fairly loud vocal. The whole thing sounds slightly better than the still very good CD "Live In Milwaukee 1978". In addition, at the end two tracks recorded nine days earlier in New York are included - of weaker quality, but very rare and valuable. For example the track "Pyramid", known from the later LP "Impeckable", has a superb, 3-minute speed-up - heavily limited on the studio record. A must! -

BUDGIE - BUDGIE - Never Turn Your Back On A Friend +3 - UK Noteworthy Expanded - LISTENprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
If someone wants to own only one Budgie album (which is nonsense in itself - you need at least the first 4-5 records...), they should choose this very one, released in 1973, a heavy rock masterpiece! A British, remastered edition of the brilliant third album, containing, among others, "Breadfan" and "Parents" - the two most popular tracks by this superb band. In addition the best version of "Baby Please Don't Go" and the ear-crushing "In The Grip Of A Tyrefitter's Hand". Among the bonuses are the original, brilliant "Breadfan" clip (not "live", but the classic studio version from 1973 - still with Ray Phillips) and two new versions from 2004. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! -

BUDGIE - BUDGIE - Od In For The Kill! do Impeckable (1974-1979) - CHRIS PIKEprice: 50,00 PLN / 12,50 EUR
This is the SECOND PART of the story of the group Budgie - made on the basis of long conversations with the second/third line-up. This volume covers the NEXT FOUR ALBUMS from 1974-78 ('In For The Kill', 'Bandolier', 'If I Were Brittania I'd Waive The Rules' and 'Impeckable'). The text is very concise, the photos of the band, sleeves, record labels, press cuttings, old adverts - incredible (a pity they are black and white, but at least on excellent paper...). It could not have been done better! We also have the first volume! -

BUDGIE - BUDGIE - Pierwsze trzy albumy - CHRIS PIKEprice: 50,00 PLN / 12,50 EUR
This is the first book about Budgie (made on the basis of long conversations with the first line-up) - but what a book! First, its print premiere takes place in Poland and second, it is a dream book for every Budgie fan as well as for vinyl record collectors and lovers of that era in general! The author (a New Zealander) is a manic fan of the band and has such things in his collection that you can only envy! The text is very concise, the photos of the band, sleeves, record labels, press cuttings, old adverts - incredible (a pity they are black and white, but at least on excellent paper...). It could not have been done better! Well, it could have been taken further, but here is a surprise: another volume with the next FOUR albums ('In For The Kill', 'Bandolier', 'If I Were Brittania I'd Waive The Rules' and 'Impeckable'). -
