An excellent second album (containing, among others, "Your Song", "Border Song", "Take Me To The Pilot" and a few forgotten but even better numbers) - considered by many to be the best of his career (although the debut Empty Sky is even better!). Elton then had a very attractive-sounding, poignant voice and of course the ability to compose catchy and at the same time non-trivial melodies. A two-disc deluxe edition, from 2008. The additional CD contains demo versions and tracks from BBC performances. Highly recommended! -

LOMAX, JACKIE AND BADGER (see also: Badger / Undertakers) - JACKIE LOMAX - Lost Soul Singles And Demos 1966-1967 / BADGER - White Lady 1974 (2CD) - UK RPM Edition - LISTEN - LAST COPYprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
The first disc of this two-disc release is filled with previously unreleased single tracks and demo versions (from 1966-67) by the ephemeral rhythm'n'blues formation Lomax Alliance. The group had a contract with Brian Epstein (the manager of The Beatles), but after his sudden death only one CBS single came out. It is certainly a treat for fans of the "early-to-mid" 60s! The second disc, meanwhile, contains the average LP "White Lady" (1974) - the second album by the (earlier progressive) group Badger (still with Jackie Lomax on vocals), in a soft rock vein - sometimes played with a touch of soul and Latin music. Worth having for the first disc! (JL) -

PIERSALIS (see also: Gruppo 2001) - PIERSALIS - Plancton - ITA Remastered Card Sleeve Editionprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR
Released in 1975, the album is an excellent example of 70s Italian pop, with influences of French song and music. Its style is a combination of lyrical, emotional singing and melodies of a French character, but with Italian temperament and delicacy. 'Plancton' is a classic pop album, but with distinct elements of chanson, that is French artistic song, known for poetic lyrics and often sad, nostalgic tones. The sound of this album is mainly delicate, acoustic arrangements with dominant string instruments and piano, which subtly underline the vocals of Piero Salis. It is music full of feeling, often melancholic, but also very elegant and refined. -
POLNAREFF, MICHEL - POLNAREFF, MICHEL - Michel Polnareff (1967 Italian Album) +6 - ITA Card Sleeve Edition - LISTENprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
Released in Italy in 1967 (a year after the French premiere), the Italian-language debut of one of the most distinctive and eccentric artists of the French pop/rock scene of the 60s, when he was only beginning to build his style, mixing French chanson with pop music with influences of rock, beat and subtle melody. On two tracks (including the splendid, hit 'La Poupe Qui Fait Non') Jimmy Page (guitar) and John Paul Jones (bass) appear, 2 years before the debut of Led Zeppelin! In addition to the contents of the vinyl record, 6 tracks from singles have been added. Highly recommended!
