A revelation! A reissue of the excellent, unfortunately only album by a completely unknown band from France. Made in the spring of 1971, the INSTRUMENTAL longplay belongs to my TOP 3 of French progressive rock. It is a musical orgy and heaven for the ears of all lovers of progressive, slightly jazzy and breathy playing with flute in the lead role (but also with electric guitar) à la sophisticated Jethro Tull of the period of the LPs "Stand Up" and "Benefit"! Released almost identically to the original (single, laminated sleeve), the vinyl does not contain even a moment of weakness! A few years ago I could not tear myself away from this music! Gripping playing - the kind we know from some old films from the turn of the 60s and 70s, showing music clubs or action scenes... Please listen to the music links! The vinyl, full of deep tones, sounds superb - just as well as the original from the Futura label worth 500 euros. A MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed. -

Originally released by Cotillion in 1970, the only, but excellent, album by a Canadian trio playing a combination of a heavy variety of psychedelic rock with strong vocals - in the style of Hendrix and Sir Lord Baltimore, with elements of Eastern European (mainly Ukrainian) folklore (mandolin) and early Captain Beefheart. There is not a single boring track on the record and I remember that many years ago it was an absolute killer for me! In addition the record includes a 6-minute, heavy guitar number, unreleased on vinyl, from the same recording session! 2024 reissue, in a single sleeve enlivened with two photos. Highly recommended! An absolute revelation! A splendid and now truly cult album from the circle of American heavy rock - without doubt the BEST record of its kind from the second half of the 70s! Word! It is certainly the American top five, or perhaps even top three, of the whole decade! Plenty of heavy riffs; an excellent juicy sound and at the same time surprisingly successful compositions - the whole thing sounds as if recorded in 1971-72 in a professional studio, and not 4 years later in the American provinces! In 1976 nobody in the world played heavy rock better! A total treat for fans of heavy riffing playing in the vein of the debut of Montrose, early Led Zeppelin, UFO of the time and the forgotten Full Moon! Nobody will be disappointed! It is hard to believe that it was a private pressing in a run of 1000 copies - the original vinyl in perfect condition is currently worth over 1500$! AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Condition: New (JL) -

UFO - UFO - Live In Germany 1973 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A great, limited, 56-minute vinyl containing very rare, archival and in its own way exceptional material recorded by a quartet still searching for its style and scraping along the commercial bottom, in Recklinghausen, Germany (for a few dozen fans) in June 1973, with the then guitarist, the very young Bernie Marsden - later of Wild Turkey, Babe Ruth and above all Whitesnake. It is worth noting the very attractive set of tracks - alongside classics such as "Boogie" or "Prince Kajuku" (both lasting 10 minutes each) the strongly improvising band offered the not widely known "Sixteen" and covers such as Janis Joplin's "Move Over" and "Back To The USA" from the MC5 repertoire. Besides this, it is probably the only concert by the band on which you can hear Phil Mogg yelling at a fan... 'Suck my cock'! Right after that Marsden was replaced by Michael Schenker and, as they say - the rest is history... In addition (at the end of the first side) there is a very rare cover of "Leaving Here" - recorded already with Schenker, in Berlin in November 1973 - almost a year before the release of the album "Phenomenon"! The sound quality of the record (a so-called 'audience recording'), although raw, is really very good - dynamic, quite selective (you can hear all the instruments perfectly) and somewhat better than on the raw versions presented below in the YouTube links. The cover shows probably the only known live photo of the line-up with Marsden! It is not really a record for audiophiles, but for old-school fans of heavy rock - certainly! Highly recommended! A superb, limited double-vinyl edition collecting rare or unreleased studio recordings and radio sessions by Uriah Heep from the period of their first three albums (1969-1971)! The 2LP, lasting over 100 minutes, contains, among others, four great tracks from the BBC, in minimally longer or somewhat cleaner versions than on the official CDs. Besides this, four excellent recordings that did not fit on the LP "Salisbury" and finally real rarities: COMPLETELY UNKNOWN radio versions, not previously released on official CDs, somewhat muffled, of three compositions from the LP "Look At Yourself", released only half a year later: "I Wanna Be Free", "Love Machine" and "Shadows Of Grief". Unfortunately the publisher forgot to mention in the note on the back where they come from, so I am informing you that they were recorded for BBC radio on 24 May 1971. Besides this, all eight known recordings by the band Spice (Uriah Heep without Ken Hensley, from 1968-1969) are included: six tracks from an unfinished album from 1969 (including "Born In A Trunk") and both sides of the 1000-euro single "On Love" (1968), from United Artists. With the arrival of Hensley the band changed its name to UH (and the vocalist Garrick changed his surname to Byron) and began to record its real, debut album! The whole thing was released in a very nice, laminated sleeve with several rare photos! It is also a perfect complement to the also double "Crystal Ball - A Collection Of Early Live Performances And Rare Studio Tracks 1971-1974" 2LP - released a few years ago by the sister label Atos Records! Lasting nearly 120 minutes, an excellent, limited double album containing fantastic material recorded by the progressive Brits during several different sessions for BBC radio - live (with minimal overdubs) in the studio, as well as during two performances. This is the earliest Van der Graaf - from the period of the first four, best records. Half the recordings appeared earlier on the LPs "After The Flood" and "Visions" (both released by Verne and now out of print), but 50 minutes had not previously appeared on vinyl (including "Lost" from the October 1970 session, or the 27-minute live excerpt from September 1971 containing, among others, a short cover of "Dambuster March" - importantly - at the correct speed)! It is also worth mentioning that "Killer" from October 1970 is in its full, 8-minute form and sounds miles better than the unfinished version on the official CD box set! All the tracks sound perfect (or close to ideal), except for a few rarities, such as the officially unreleased "Octopus" (from October 1968) and the live "Squid 1/Squid 2" and "Whatever Robert Would Have Said" (both from August 1970) - recorded in an amateur way by fans, from the radio. It presents the band at the peak of its energy, with a very dynamic vocal from Peter Hammill and the strong-sounding bass guitar of Nic Potter standing out. A former bandmate, David Jackson, guested on saxophone and flute. The album was released in July 1978, when the band had already not existed for a month. 2024 edition remastered at Abbey Road studios, in a gatefold sleeve. -
