A two-CD British edition produced in cooperation with guitarist John Cann - containing almost all the material the band recorded. The first CD (76 minutes) contains the catalogue LP "Andromeda" (RCA, 1969) + 8 extras. The second CD, running for over 70 minutes, contains, among other things, a great BBC radio session from 1968 (5 tracks); three good tracks that did not make it onto the catalogue LP and a few archive live recordings (unfortunately of weaker quality). A MUST! -

American digipak edition of two albums (on one CD) by a British band that was a straightforward continuation (after the name was shortened) of Andwella's Dream (LP "Love And Poetry"). The first album (from 1970) contained intelligent and melodic music with a progressive tinge in the vein of Jethro Tull and Procol Harum. The second record (from 1971), though similar, was already considerably weaker - leaning more towards American rock à la The Band. Even so, I recommend it for the sake of the LP "World's End". (JL) -

A new, limited edition of one of the best records in this shop and at the same time the quintessence of ambitious, yet melodic playing from the late 60s! Released in summer 1969, Andwella's debut and truly cult album (the next two titles were already made under the shortened name) is a stunning combination of psychedelic style in the vein of early Procol Harum, the first two records by Family and Traffic and more than a pinch of late The Beatles from the "Abbey Road" period. The original record, lasting nearly 50 minutes (in perfect British CBS Records edition worth nearly... 2000 euros!!!), was filled with relatively short, but very substantial tracks lasting on average 4 minutes each. Plus two single tracks from 1969 and two tracks from 1970 are included. This is the best-sounding edition - better than the Sunbeam Records version. AN ABSOLUTE MUST! (JL) -

A black vinyl from Verne, limited to 500 copies and lasting 56 minutes, featuring almost all the band's important early recordings NOT INCLUDED ON THE DEBUT RECORD! Released in a very attractive sleeve with nice early photos of the metalheads, the album contains tracks from three singles and EPs from 1980-1981, two compilations ("Metal Explosion" and "Metal For Muthas" - both from 1980); three great studio recordings from 1982 and several rare live tracks, including a cover of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid"! So the set of tracks is superb, in my opinion it is as good to listen to as the debut! Sound quality perfect (apart from the two live recordings)! ATTENTION! The three missing recordings from the 1980 BBC radio session are available on the brilliant double "NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) At The BBC - 'Friday Rock Show' Volume 1 - 1980-1982" (2LP). Excellent-sounding, remastered edition of the last catalogue album (RELEASED ONLY IN THE STATES - not to be confused with the quite different British LP/CD "Animalisms") by the once very popular group from Newcastle. It was thoroughbred, bluesy playing with elements of very early psychedelia. Frank Zappa played on one track, and arranged two others! In addition eleven fantastic tracks (lasting a full 35 minutes!) recorded in the line-up known from the LP "Winds Of Change" - including five live and six from BBC radio (including "Connection" from the repertoire of The Rolling Stones) - all with excellent sound! If someone owns the old Italian CD from the label Oxford (in stereo) - they can safely reach for this edition, because not only does it sound much better, but it contains completely different bonus tracks. A MUST! -

A new, limited, European edition of the only album by a British band founded by the former leader and guitarist of Blonde On Blonde (on the debut LP "Contrasts"). Released in 1970 by RCA Victor, a truly excellent, slightly jazzy, progressive record that was reminiscent of the earliest recordings of East Of Eden, Colosseum, Blodwyn Pig, If and Quintessence. Complex arrangements, plenty of instrumental parts (saxophones, flute, and so on), catchy melodic themes, and finally the great, 25-minute suite filling the second side of the vinyl. Beautiful, catchy melodies based on vocal parts full of reflection, emotion and fire, ubiquitous Hammonds and sophisticated, decidedly psychedelic and very extended guitar entries. The whole sounds a bit like a much more progressive, more serious The Doors combined with early Van der Graaf Generator... Two tracks last 10-12 minutes each, the rest 4-7. In addition, at the end of each side both recordings from the rare, excellent single released at the same time as the album have been added.
