LUNDBORG, PATRICK - PATRICK LUNDBORG - Acid Archives (2nd Updated Edition) - Ultimate Guide To US Underground Sounds (1965-1982) - Expanded And Revised 2nd Edition - 400 Full Color Pages - LAST COPY! - LISTEN
NOTE! OUT OF PRINT! LAST COPY! This is an excellent book (a record guide) and a real treasure trove of knowledge devoted to 5000 little-known (or completely forgotten) records from the American/Canadian psychedelic/progressive/heavy rock scene (as well as folk, blues, garage and so on), mainly from 1965-1972 but also covering rare titles (sometimes even from the early metal scene) up to 1982! So you will not find reviews of albums by The Doors, Jefferson Airplane or Kansas here. Even Electric Prunes and The Standells are missing, while Chocolate Watchband and 13th Floor Elevators are in! Of course, this book is aimed not only at complete maniacs (for example those who collect only local folk records issued in 20 copies), and at the same time it contains plenty of great artists/titles well known to collectors, released on CD by Akarma, Gear Fab or other American labels, and sold at Megadisc for years! As a consolation, I will add that better-known American artists appear in the recently published book "Endless Trip" (written by people associated with Galactic Ramble), so the two titles complement each other perfectly! When the first edition of "Acid Archives" appeared in 2006, it sold out practically instantly, and until recently single copies were fetching prices of 200 dollars on the Internet! The current version, published in autumn 2010, has been updated, slightly expanded and, above all, printed in colour! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! -

METHUSELAH (see also: Amazing Blondel) - METHUSELAH - Matthew, Mark, Luke & John - EU Digipack - VERY RARE
A long-awaited digipak reissue of the great, but sadly only, album by this British progressive band, released in 1969 only in the USA by the cult label Elektra. It is hard to describe this eclectic, highly varied, guitar-driven album, which is somewhat reminiscent of the debut by Blonde On Blonde and of the only album by the excellent but underappreciated group Plus. There is a bit of everything on it: late psychedelia, plenty of changing moods, and a lot of heavy sounds interwoven with acoustic passages. The album is worth listening to several times, as there is really a lot going on! Highly recommended! -

OSIBISA - OSIBISA - Osibisa - UK MCA 1971 1st Press
Super rare, absolutely first British MCA pressing from 1971 (with the beautiful pink-orange vinyl label) in a gatefold sleeve. This is the debut album by a once popular and genuinely great (until 1972) British group (made up exclusively of black musicians from Africa and the Caribbean), combining the style of African ethnic music with the work of Blood Sweat & Tears and early Santana. Beautiful condition. The gatefold, stunning sleeve by Roger Dean (probably his best ever) is in very good condition, with light traces of damp, but no stains and nothing on the colour: EXCELLENT / The record is practically perfect, played maybe 2-3 times: MINT(-) -

RARE BIRD (see also: Fields) - RARE BIRD - As Your Mind Flies By - UK Esoteric Expanded
British, remastered edition with three bonus tracks, including one previously unreleased! The second and probably the best album by the British band inspired by the work of Procol Harum. One of the most thrilling records in the history of rock. The wonderful suite Flight in its full, 20-minute glory... Soon afterwards the band changed its line-up (and recorded the excellent, though stylistically different, LP Epic Forest), while organist Graham Field formed Fields, where he continued the style of early Rare Bird. A must! -

STEWART, AL - AL STEWART - Images - His First Three Albums (1967-70) (2CD) - UK Expanded Edition - LISTEN
A very tastefully put together double CD from EMI, containing the first three albums (Bedsitter Images from 1967, Love Chronicle from 1969 and Zero She Flies from 1970) by this artist, who has a very pleasant, warm, though "intelligent" voice. The debut is a really nice, slightly 'Donovan-like' album full of charming soft-rock melodies, often adorned with plush orchestrations. But the best was yet to come! The second in his discography, released two years later, Love Chronicle is an absolute REVELATION! This fantastic album, sadly completely unknown in Poland, was recorded with the participation of 3 members of Fairport Convention (under pseudonyms) and with Jimmy Page on electric guitar! It is a folk-psych-rock masterpiece, full of brilliant melodies and unexpected changes of mood, and also not free of early progressive influences (Hammond organ; an 18-minute folk suite). Everyone who hears this record falls for it on the spot, including fans of dense, progressive blowing-away... And that is despite the fact that it was there that the word "fuck" appeared for the first time in the history of British music (several times...)! Beautiful music! The progressive no. 4 is worth every penny and contains probably the most atmospheric solo in the career of the Led Zep guitarist! The third album was more acoustic than its brilliant predecessor, but still fascinating. All the albums have been supplemented with period bonus tracks previously known from American (now unavailable) CDs. Highly recommended! MUS! -
