BEAT BOYS - BEAT BOYS - Beat Boys - US Lion Editionprice: 100,00 PLN / 25,00 EUR
Classic, though rather exotic (sung in Spanish) pop-psychedelia with folk and garage touches! Very nicely presented, the only album by an Argentinian group based in Brazil and drawing on the work of the Lemon Pipers, The Zombies, The Beatles and Brazilian tropicália. Plus the B-side of a single. American CD. Recommended! (JL) -
PAPPO'S BLUES (see also: Invisible) - PAPPO’S BLUES – Pappo’s Blues 2 - Svart Records Edition - LISTENprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
The second album by this popular Argentinian trio is fairly widely considered the best achievement of its whole career, although in my opinion 'the third one' is even better. In any case, compared with the debut the band strengthened the guitar riffs a little more and presented a collection of almost archetypal heavy rock numbers in the vein of Hendrix, Black Sabbath and Budgie - still referencing the blues, but without overdoing it... An absolute must! -
PAPPO'S BLUES (see also: Invisible) - PAPPO'S BLUES - Volumen 3 - SVART RECORDS COLOURED VINYL - LISTENprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
Released in 1973, the third album by the Argentinian hard rock trio. In my opinion it is the band's best, and certainly heaviest, record - full of fiery tracks built on mighty riffs. A MUST! -
VOX DEI - VOX DEI - La Biblia (Segun Vox Dei) - EU Magic Potion Limited Edition - VERY RARE - LISTENprice: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
A new, limited, European edition of the superb, psych-progressive rock classic released in spring 1971 in Argentina, full of extended compositions based on the dense, juicy and strongly psychedelic interplay of electric and acoustic guitars, usually backed by keyboards in the background, and magical, melodic vocals (in Spanish). Originally, the 55-minute album (translated with the subtitle: "The Bible According To Vox Dei") appeared on double vinyl and is the second studio LP by this cult band - regarded as a milestone in the history of Argentine rock. It is worth knowing that, unlike in other South American countries, a huge number of excellent rock bands were exceptionally active in Argentina (reminiscent of the work of somewhat rawer progressive bands from Italy and Spain), which since the 90s have been highly valued by fans and collectors. So this is not an anomaly, but a rock classic! Great sound, although it should be remembered that parts of the penultimate, 10-minute track "Cristo" sound a little less clear, as they come from an average copy, because 2-3 minutes were accidentally... erased in the studio! Attention! This is the original version from the Disc Jockey label in the classic sleeve. Years later the material was re-recorded twice (in new sleeves), but that was decidedly not it... AN ABSOLUTE MUST! (JL) -
VOX DEI - VOX DEI - Jeremías, Pies De Plomo - SPA Sommor Pressprice: 140,00 PLN / 35,00 EUR
The excellent fourth album by an Argentine band playing heavy guitar rock with progressive touches. -
AEROBLUS - AEROBLUS - Aeroblus - HRC Records - UNIKALNY CD
Aeroblus is one of the most "Western-sounding" South American bands of that period — they were closer to Led Zeppelin or Cream than to most of the Latin scene. This is raw, energetic hard rock from 1977, with strong blues influences, based on heavy guitar riffs and an expressive vocal. A cult band, valued and sought after by fans of heavier, bluesy rock. A 2007 reissue. Only one copy! New, sealed.
