VARIOUS ARTISTS - All God's Children - Songs From The British Jesus Rock Revolution 1967-1974 (3CD BOX) - UK Grapefruit Edition

A three-disc set containing an overview of British artists in whose work Christianity played a significant role. From the publisher: "In 1971 the leading British Christian band Out Of Darkness appeared at the notorious counterculture gathering at Phun City, and at Glastonbury a 'Jesus tent' was opened in which Christian revellers could attend mass and holy communion twice a day. 'All God's Children' gathers the best British Christian artists, including such respected names as Out Of Darkness (and their earlier incarnation, the garage band The Pilgrims), Parchment, Whispers Of Truth and Judy MacKenzie. Alongside them also appear elements of Strawbs, Moody Blues, Amazing Blondel, John Kongos and Medicine Head – bands that, though theologically shy, wrote songs with a strong spiritual message. The compilation, whose name comes from a Kinks ballad, naturally included in this set, is a fascinating look at a poorly documented phenomenon and an unexpected by-product of the hippie era." Everything in a rigid box, with an attractive booklet inside.
