THUNDERMUG - Strikes (Canadian Album Version) - SWE Flawed Gems Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

On CD for the first time! The debut album of this Canadian formation, released in 1972, is very energetic and generally genuinely heavy rock, full of massive guitar riffs, juicy drumming but also catchy melodies sung in harmony. This is an example of a record on which the commercial aspect is combined with grubby rock in an almost perfect way. I know what I am writing, because I have known the album for years and have listened to it dozens of times. In the States the LP "Strikes" came out a year later (on Epic Records), but it was a compilation of tracks from the first two LPs, whereas the Swedish CD contains the material from the original Canadian debut. It is worth mentioning that Terry Brown - producer of all the classic albums by Rush - worked on the record! Highly recommended!
