SATIN WHALE - Studio Albums 1974-1981 (5CD) - GER MIG Edition - LISTEN

A five-disc CD box containing five studio albums by a great, progressive German band. The first two titles are excellent! NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER: Desert Places (1974, Brain) The debut and at the same time the band's most highly regarded album. Long compositions, a lot of flute, saxophone and organ, an atmosphere close to early Camel or Eloy. Lost Mankind (1975, Nova) Somewhat more jazz-rock and technical than the debut, but still strongly progressive. Includes, among others, "Go Ahead" and "Beyond The Horizon". As a Keepsake (1977, Nova) A somewhat more accessible album, but still kept in a progressive spirit. One of the favourite records of many of the band's fans. A Whale of a Time (1978, Strand) An even bigger turn towards melodic rock and AOR. Conny Plank was among those responsible for production and mixing. Don't Stop the Show (1981, Polydor) The last studio album. The sound is now almost entirely rooted in the realities of the early 80s, with few of the former progressive elements.
