SATIN WHALE - Desert Places - FRA Lumpy Gravy Remastered Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Superb debut album, released in 1974 by Brain Metronome (and sounding like 1972), by a German formation playing invigorating, energetic and fairly melodic/catchy progressive rock (lots of Hammonds, lots of flute, electric guitars, strong, dense drums) in the vein of the best moments of Jane, Eloy, Out Of Focus, Nektar and Twenty Sixty Six And Then - with a pinch of Jethro Tull (flute). Every track is great - there really is no filler and none of the later art rock whining. To tell the truth, as far as more commercial, heavier krautrock goes, it is an exemplary record and is recommended to all lovers of old rock! Excellent sound! A MUST!
