FRANK ZAPPA / MOTHERS OF INVENTION - Freak Out! - US Zappa Records Edition - LISTEN

A legendary debut (recorded between November 1965 and January 1966) - released on vinyl as a double long-player. The first part was filled with short, almost garage (Stones-like) tracks mixed with mocking rhythm'n'blues; while the second part was taken up by several long, mega-psychedelic numbers full of malicious humour (including the mockery of Elvis in "Help I'm A Rock") and full of far-out manipulations of sound, tape speed shifts and strange noises. Zappa Records edition, from 2012. Highly recommended! (JL)
