IDLE RACE - BBC Radio Sessions 1967-1969 - FRA On The Air Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Idle Race was a British soft-psychedelic band led by the young Jeff Lynne, and inspired by The Beatles, The Move (they were close friends with Roy Wood's band) and American bands of the 60s such as Moby Grape and Love. This superb, hour-long CD limited to 500 copies contains radio sessions recorded live by this great but very underrated band at the BBC studios (with a few basic overdubs) in the period from October 1967 to September 1969. The record also contains great covers not released on the band's official albums. Most of the tracks were issued on the very rare BBC Transcription Service discs, released in the late 60s exclusively for promotional purposes. This unbelievably good material is in my opinion much better and better produced than the very good studio albums. And of course every Electric Light Orchestra and The Move fan should have this record! A MUST for all fans of British playing from the late 60s! (JL)
