DUNCAN MACKAY - Chimera +1 - US Digipack Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Originally released (and recorded) only in South Africa, a great progressive album from 1974 and at the same time the solo debut of the keyboardist, originally from Great Britain, known in later years from records by Camel, Cockney Rebel, Kate Bush (the first three) and Budgie, among others. The album, once released by Vertigo (and now worth about 200 euros), combined the style of Refugee, Morgan and early Wakeman. Three long compositions based on all sorts of keyboard sounds (with a rhythm section, of course) and fortunately without tedious longueurs. This is top-shelf art rock! After arriving in Great Britain Mackay played on records by artists such as Baker Gurvitz Army, Colosseum II, Cockney Rebel, Kate Bush, Camel, Budgie and the Alan Parsons Project. Digipak edition, with an additional 7-minute, previously unreleased track! Highly recommended! (JL)
