DUFFY - Just In Case You're Interested... - EU HIFLY Press - LISTEN - VERY RARE

Well, everybody makes mistakes... In my book "British Rock" I wrote mistakenly (relying on several seemingly solid sources, such as Hans Pokora's books, or www.popsike.com) that the LP "Scruffy Duffy" (1973) was the debut of this British hard rock band, while this album is the 'second'... Years later it turned out that it was never released in the British Isles, but in Brazil and France (in 1974 and 1975), the album had come out in Germany as early as 1972... From the note on the back of this premiere CD it follows that I was not the only one who thought so... As for the music, the record was filled with a very attractive and fairly melodic mixture of style close to Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Free and Humble Pie (catchy compositions, plenty of organs, juicy guitars), though without virtuoso acrobatics. A very solid album that will genuinely please almost all lovers of heavy and fairly melodic playing from the early 70s. Recommended!
