COLOSSEUM II - Strange New Flesh + BBC Studio Session (1975-1976) (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Edition

Double, remastered edition of the first album by the second incarnation of the band - with Jon Hiseman on drums, Gary Moore on guitar and Don Airey on keyboards. The original LP, released by the label Bronze in 1976, contained six extended, jazz-rock compositions harking back indirectly to the style of the old Colosseum, though decidedly closer to the recordings of the then much admired Mahavishnu Orchestra. In addition, recordings from the band's studio sessions made in 1975 (disc 1) and in 1976 (disc 2) are included. Recommended! (JL)
