BILLIE HOLIDAY – Lover Man - EU Press

A compilation of the singer's early recordings for Decca, covering sessions from 1944–1947, presents Billie Holiday in superb vocal form, with her characteristic, slightly husky tone and an extraordinary ability to give emotional depth to every interpretation. The orchestras, brass sections, strings and small jazz groups accompanying her create elegant arrangements, among which "Lover Man", "Don't Explain" and "Good Morning Heartache" stand out in particular.
