SAHARA (see also: Subject Esq. / Out Of Focus / Gift) - SAHARA - Sunrise +2 - EU Prog Gems Limited Edition - LISTEN - VERY RARE
price: 55,00 PLN / 13,75 EUR
This is simply the band Subject Esq. under a name changed in mid-1973 and with two new musicians: the former Out Of Focus organist and the guitarist from the debut of the group Gift! Released in March 1974, Sahara's debut album is classic, richly arranged German progressive rock - inevitably stylistically close to Subject Esq. but also to Eloy, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Yes and Deep Purple (in the middle of the suite a fragment of 'Concerto' is even quoted). There are only 4 compositions on the record, including the aforementioned, eclectic, 27-minute suite! Fans of German progressive playing will be delighted! Additionally 2 excellent-sounding live recordings from August 1973, lasting 14 and 11 minutes respectively, are included. NOTE! The CD begins with the sound of a turntable needle dropping onto vinyl and only after a moment does a fragment of classical music appear and after a few seconds a rock band suddenly comes in... Why am I writing about this? Well, this not very fortunate fragment with the needle did not appear on the earlier CD edition of 'Sunrise' (probably because the label feared being suspected of sloppiness during mastering), so please do not make a complaint on this account, because for the first time the record is presented in its entirety! :-) A MUST! Condition: NEW, sealed. (JL)
