MAJIC SHIP - Majic Ship – Majic Ship - Guerssen Records Edition

Released in 1970, the only and completely forgotten album by an American band. It is another example of a forgotten gem of the American underground – recorded, but practically unnoticed in its time. It presents raw, heavy playing on the border of psychedelia and hard rock, with a distinct bluesy core. The guitar sound is overdriven, slightly "dirty", at times even garage. There is no studio perfection here, but there is authenticity and energy, something between Blue Cheer and Led Zeppelin in a garage and less polished version. The centrepiece of the album is a great, jamming, 10-minute cover of two combined classics of the day: For What It's Worth (from the Buffalo Springfield repertoire) and Down By The River (Neil Young & The Crazy Horse).
