LUNDBORG, PATRICK - PATRICK LUNDBORG - Acid Archives (2nd Updated Edition) - Ultimate Guide To US Underground Sounds (1965-1982) - Expanded And Revised 2nd Edition - 400 Full Color Pages - LAST COPY! - LISTEN
NOTE! OUT OF PRINT! LAST COPY! This is an excellent book (a record guide) and a real treasure trove of knowledge devoted to 5000 little-known (or completely forgotten) records from the American/Canadian psychedelic/progressive/heavy rock scene (as well as folk, blues, garage and so on), mainly from 1965-1972 but also covering rare titles (sometimes even from the early metal scene) up to 1982! So you will not find reviews of albums by The Doors, Jefferson Airplane or Kansas here. Even Electric Prunes and The Standells are missing, while Chocolate Watchband and 13th Floor Elevators are in! Of course, this book is aimed not only at complete maniacs (for example those who collect only local folk records issued in 20 copies), and at the same time it contains plenty of great artists/titles well known to collectors, released on CD by Akarma, Gear Fab or other American labels, and sold at Megadisc for years! As a consolation, I will add that better-known American artists appear in the recently published book "Endless Trip" (written by people associated with Galactic Ramble), so the two titles complement each other perfectly! When the first edition of "Acid Archives" appeared in 2006, it sold out practically instantly, and until recently single copies were fetching prices of 200 dollars on the Internet! The current version, published in autumn 2010, has been updated, slightly expanded and, above all, printed in colour! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
