GRAVY TRAIN - GRAVY TRAIN - (A Ballad Of) A Peaceful Man - EU Repertoire COLOURED VINYL Press - LISTENprice: 150,00 PLN / 37,50 EUR
A great, second album by the band (somewhat gentler than the debut), being a combination of the style of early Jethro Tull and The Moody Blues. A 2023 reissue, on coloured vinyl. -

GRAVY TRAIN - GRAVY TRAIN - Gravy Train - UK Repertoire Card Sleeve Limited Edition - LISTENprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR
Great debut album, released at the end of 1970 and lasting 50 minutes, by a British progressive formation, bringing to mind the recordings of Jethro Tull, Colosseum and at moments even King Crimson. Limited edition in a card sleeve. A must! (JL) -

GRAVY TRAIN - GRAVY TRAIN - Second Birth +4 - SWE Flawed Gems Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Released at the beginning of 1973, the third album in the discography (and the first for the label Dawn - after leaving Vertigo) is without a doubt the strongest, most dynamic title in the career of this British hard-progressive formation. According to received opinion it is a rather average record, but for me heavy, juicy playing in the vein of early Jethro Tull (lots of strong flute) or Uriah Heep is never average. Half of the album is simply excellent and beats hands down the vast majority of the material from the first two albums, while the other four tracks (including one very Beatles-esque) do not drop below a good level. In addition four tracks from two rather average singles are included. This is a genuinely very good record and, what is more, very good-sounding! Highly recommended! -

GRAVY TRAIN - GRAVY TRAIN - Staircase To The Day +4 - UK Repertoire Expanded Card Sleeve Limited Editionprice: 75,00 PLN / 18,75 EUR
A British band with a style that is hard to define. The first two excellent records contain a mixture of the styles of Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and a little Colosseum. The first is more "twisted", while the second is art-rock. The underrated third is... underrated, while the last album (recorded with a different line-up) is slightly disappointing, although it is somewhat saved by a superb Roger Dean cover. Edition limited to 3000 copies in mini LP form, with four bonus tracks. (JL)
