DIO (see also: Elf / Rainbow / Black Sabbath) - RONNIE JAMES DIO - Rainbow In The Dark: Autobiografia - RONNIE JAMES DIO oraz MICK WALL i WENDY DIOprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
Before his tragic death in 2010, Ronnie James Dio was in the middle of writing his autobiography, in which he looked back on an extraordinary life that led him from his home town in upstate New York to the biggest stages in the world, including the arena that in his eyes represented the pinnacle of success - Madison Square Garden; the place where this book begins and ends. Ronnie, contemplating the achievement of his dream career, reflects on the key aspects that contributed to his ending up in such a place in life - his memories include, among others, the close group of friends thanks to whom he took his first steps in music; playing at parties, bars and clubs; suddenly finding himself behind a microphone, which changed his life; the chain of fortunate circumstances that led to the birth of Rainbow and the productive but difficult collaboration with Ritchie Blackmore; the chance meeting that made him the vocalist of Black Sabbath, leading him to new levels of success; the surprisingly gentle story behind the birth of the Devil Horns - the lasting symbol of heavy metal; his marriage to Wendy, which stabilised his life; and also the great risk that both of them took to launch the most successful venture of his career - his own band - Dio. All of this is described here in great detail and in the frankest words, from his conflict with Blackmore, through the drugs that stood in the way of the Black Sabbath reunion, to the clashes of personality that have destroyed more than one band. "Rainbow In The Dark" is a candid, surprising, often hilarious, sometimes sad testament - proof of dedication and ambition, filled with moving stories of growing up, glorious tales of excess in various situations, as well as candid recollections of what really went on behind the scenes, in the hotel, in the studio and at home, behind closed doors, off the tour. 286 pages + insert with colour photographs, hardback. -
