CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - Culpeper's Orchard - EU Sun King Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A reissue of the 1971 debut album by a band from Denmark - in my opinion one of the three best albums ever recorded in Scandinavia! This Danish band brilliantly combined refined, rocking, guitar-driven playing with typical prog rock a la Jethro Tull and Procol Harum. Plenty of guitars, Hammond organ, lots of changes of tempo and mood and great, catchy melodies - simply a perfect album! Original copies in perfect condition are worth up to a thousand euros! 2024 edition, in a laminated sleeve, sealed. A MUST! (JL) -
CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - Culpeper's Orchard - AUS Edition - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
One of the three best albums ever recorded in Scandinavia and probably the coolest record from Denmark! This cult, though still not widely known, band brilliantly combined sophisticated, dynamic, guitar playing in the vein of Led Zeppelin with typical prog-rock a la Procol Harum and elements of folk. Plenty of electric guitars, Hammond organ, lots of changes of tempo and mood - simply a perfect album! An absolute must! -
CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - Mountain Music - Polydor Recordings 1971-1973 (2CD) - UK Esoteric Remastered Expanded Digipack Edition - LISTENprice: 90,00 PLN / 22,50 EUR
A remastered, two-disc set containing all the albums released by Polydor by probably the best Danish progressive band ("Culpeper's Orchard" from 1971, "Second Sight" and "Going For A Song" from 1972) and four bonus tracks, two of them on CD for the first time. Additionally a 24-page booklet, with interviews with, among others, the vocalist/guitarist Cy Nicklin, the bassist Michael Friis, the drummer Tom McEwan and the guitarist Neils Vangkild. The whole in a gatefold digipak. A MUST! (MU) -
CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - CULPEPER'S ORCHARD - Second Sight +7 - EU Eclipse Remastered Expanded - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 60,00 PLN / 15,00 EUR
After such a fantastic record as the Danes' 1971 debut, it would have been hard to record anything better, but the 'second', released in 1972, almost maintained that level! Recorded with an unchanged line-up, the album was kept in a very similar, folk-hard-progressive mood. The same charming vocal, electric guitars mixed with acoustic ones, occasional flute, at times almost hard rock thrashing. In addition, seven very good bonus tracks from the period - mainly from rare singles. This version beats the previous CD editions hands down (in every respect)! Highly recommended!
