WIGWAM - WIGWAM - Hard N' Horny - FIN Svart COLOURED VINYL Limited Pressprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
The debut album by the Finnish band, whose style is hard to define unambiguously. There is a lot of early Traffic and a bit of Colosseum, with an admixture of folk and blues. All the records from 1969-74 are worthy of sincere recommendation. An edition limited to 100 copies, on coloured vinyl. -

WIGWAM - WIGWAM - Tombstone Valentine - FIN Svart Records Limited Press - LISTENprice: 180,00 PLN / 45,00 EUR
An excellent second album by the progressive Finns, and the first on which bassist Pekka Pohjola played. Released in 1970 in Finland by the Love Records label, "Tombstone Valentine" contains 11 compositions in the vein of Procol Harum and Traffic, with jazzy touches. A 2019 reissue by the Finnish label Svart, on gold vinyl, limited to 500 copies. -

WOLF (see also: Darryl Way/Curved Air/If/Soft Machine - DARRYL WAY'S WOLF - Canis Lupus - UK Deram 1973 1st Press - NEAR MINT VINTAGE VINYLprice: 400,00 PLN / 100,00 EUR
ANALOGUE SOUND! A mega rare, first British Deram edition (from 1973) of the great debut album by a British mini-supergroup founded by the violinist and leader of Curved Air. The band also featured the guitarist John Etheridge (ex-Icarus, later in Soft Machine), the young drummer Ian Mosley (later in Trace and Marillion) and, as a guest producing the whole thing, Ian McDonald (King Crimson). The first part was recorded with vocals, while the second (even better) was entirely instrumental. An absolute classic of British progressive rock! Plus the original white-and-blue company inner sleeve. Great condition! The gatefold, matt sleeve is almost perfect, with only a slight, almost invisible darkening on the front (from a sticker): strong EXCELLENT / Record almost like new: MINT(-) -

WOODY KERN (see also: Whichwhat) - WOODY KERN - Awful Disclosures Of Maria Monk - EU Ethelion Remastered Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
A reissue by the Ethelion label (specialising in little-known, top-shelf classic rock), in my opinion ONE OF THE TEN BEST LITTLE-KNOWN BRITISH PROGRESSIVE ALBUMS from the TURN OF THE 60s and 70s! Released in January 1969, sadly the only LP by this band, it is an excellent combination of the then so refreshing mixture of late psychedelia and blues- and jazz-based early prog rock, close to the achievements of Jethro Tull, very early Family, Spirit and Captain Beefheart. Nice flute and saxophone parts, jazzy guitar, dreamy, psychedelic vocals and mind-blowing, very spacious yet solid sound of the rhythm section. A wonderful record and at the same time totally underrated to this day (even by my fellow writer Richard Morton-Jack...). 56 minutes of intense and unforgettable experiences! The drummer visible on the front of the cover later played in the progressive band Whichwhat. An absolute MUST! -

WRIGHT, RICHARD (see also: Pink Floyd) - RICHARD WRIGHT - Wet Dream - EU Remastered BLUE VINYL Steven Wilson 2023 Remix Limited Pressprice: 200,00 PLN / 50,00 EUR

WRITING ON THE WALL (see also: Beggars Opera) - WRITING ON THE WALL - Power Of The Picts - EU Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Released at the end of 1969, the sole yet sensational album by a Scottish band containing heavy music kept in a dark mood, reminiscent above all of the style of early Deep Purple combined with The Nice's debut and Atomic Rooster. Lots of Hammonds and guitars, extended compositions with a grubby and at the same time strongly psychedelic sound. In addition, two bonus tracks from an ultra-rare single released at the same time as the album! A must! -
LP
YANAGIDA, HIRO (see also: Food Brain / Apryl Fool) - HIRO YANAGIDA - Hiro Yanagida (2nd Album) - FRA Absinthe Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Japanese rock from the early 70s is one of the most interesting things I have heard, and Hiro Yanagida was probably the most important and most creative figure of that scene! Known from projects such as Apryl Fool, Foodbrain, Love Live Life + One and Shinki Chen And His Friends, the artist created very original, at times slightly crazy music inspired by works of classical music, the avant-garde and, above all, British psychedelic/progressive rock. Like the debut LP "Milk Time", released in 1970, the album "Hiro Yanagida" (sometimes called "Nanasai No Rohjin Tengoku"), made in 1971, is genuinely very varied music (from heavy, thrilling rock to classicising miniatures) based, as a rule, on the sound of the Hammond organ and heavy, at times strongly overdriven guitar (the great Kimio Mizutani - I recommend his solo LP from 1971). This largely instrumental album is simply thrilling, although it goes down even better after several listens! A must! New, sealed. -

YANAGIDA, HIRO (see also: Food Brain / Apryl Fool) - HIRO YANAGIDA - Milk Time - FRA Absinthe Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
This is one of literally a handful of the best rock records made in Japan in the early 70s! Released at the end of 1970, the debut by this Japanese keyboard player (recorded with, among others, members of Speed Glue & Shinki and Flied Egg) is genuinely very varied music (from heavy, thrilling rock through early fusion to classicising, delicate miniatures) based, as a rule, on the sound of the Hammond organ, the virtuosic, melodic but warm sound of the violin and the heavy, at times strongly overdriven guitar of the great Kimio Mizutani (playing a little in the style of Can's guitarist), but the sound of the violin and even the harpsichord also appears. This entirely instrumental album (worth 1000-1200 dollars on the mega-rare original from Liberty) is simply thrilling, although it goes down even better after several listens! And that superb cover with a copy of the original insert reproduced inside the gatefold sleeve... A must! -

YES - YES - Looking Around - A Collection Of Rare Live Tracks 1969-1970 - FRA Verne Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 110,00 PLN / 27,50 EUR
Released in an attractive sleeve, a single French vinyl limited to 500 copies, being a nearly hour-long and truly excellent compilation of very rare, unique live recordings by the band from its earliest period - recorded during the period of the first two albums, between the autumn of 1969 and the summer of 1970 - with the guitarist Peter Banks, the keyboard player Tony Kaye and Bill Bruford on drums. The album contains three recordings from the Beat-Club programme, from November 1969, a live version of the rare, excellent single "Something's Coming" from August 1969 and a half-hour performance from Cologne, from April 1970 - recorded just before the departure of the band's original guitarist. This performance sounds much better than the material on YouTube (link below), and was also sped up slightly - to the original tape speed. The sound quality is very good, or ideal, and the black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! Condition: NEW, unsealed. -

YES - YES - In Concert 1971 - EU Open Mind Limited Press - LISTEN - VERY RAREprice: 120,00 PLN / 30,00 EUR
Released in a beautiful, gatefold, laminated sleeve, a single European vinyl, LIMITED TO 500 COPIES, being a nearly hour-long and truly excellent compilation of very rare or unique recordings by the band from its early period - recorded in January and June 1971 (with Bill Bruford on drums and Tony Kaye on organ) during the tour promoting "The Yes Album". The vinyl contains a superb, improvised, 16-minute version of "America" (from the repertoire of Simon & Garfunkel), the 11-minute "It's Love" (by the American band The Rascals) known from the second record, fantastic and heavily altered versions of the progressive "Astral Traveller" and the absolutely brilliant "Everydays" (from the repertoire of Buffalo Springfield) and finally the best known - the 11-minute "Yours Is No Disgrace". The sound quality is perfect - even slightly better than on the official live box set "The World Is Live". The 180-gram black vinyl is perfectly pressed! A must! NEW, not shrink-wrapped. -

ZAPPA, FRANK - FRANK ZAPPA - Hot Rats - EU Remastered 180g Press - LISTENprice: 170,00 PLN / 42,50 EUR
A brilliant, decidedly the most rock-oriented album in the discography of this sorely missed American artist. All those who "would like to know everything about Zappa but are afraid to ask" should start with this record. This practically instrumental album (except for "Willie The Pimp" with Captain Beefheart) is almost entirely filled with hot guitar improvisations - sometimes assisted by electric violin parts. 2016 edition, in a gatefold sleeve, sealed. A MUST!
